New Mexico Conservation Alliance was awarded with the 2025 Working Films' Rural Cinema grant!

Rural Cinema is a training institute and community engagement program aimed at supporting rural leaders across the United States in using films as a resource in their work for environmental protection.

Last month, the New Mexico Conservation Alliance had the honor of hosting a community screening of First We Bombed New Mexico.
The film powerfully shares the stories of New Mexicans whose lives have been forever shaped by the Trinity test and its lasting consequences. It reminds us that environmental justice is deeply connected to history, community, and the pursuit of recognition and healing.
We are grateful to everyone who attended, engaged in thoughtful dialogue, and stood in solidarity with impacted communities. Events like this are an important step in building awareness and collective action.
A heartfelt thank you to our partners and sponsors: First Citizens Bank, Working Films, and ENMU-Ruidoso, for making this screening possible.
